With some training, practice and home mechanic tools pretty much anyone can work on a bike !

Deep Dive Course -

Sunday mornings 11.00am – 1.00 pm

Dates & Agenda
Week 1: Basic Installs (stem, bars, pedals, wheels, chains and cassettes)
Week 2: Install and Adjustments (brake & derailleurs)
Week 3: Installs and Adjustments continued (cabling brakes & derailleurs)
Week 4: Wheel Truing
Week 5: Bearing installs, care, and adjustments (Bottom Bracket, Head Set) and Troubleshooting
Week 6: Review, Bar taping, Cleaning & Packing basics, Q&A
(Remedial Class dates tbd: covers any topic, for those who may miss a course or two)
Course contents :
Basic Course
- Shifting adjustments
- Brake adjustments
- Basic installs and safety check
- Cleaning and lubrication basics
- Simple troubleshooting and flat repair
- Intro to wheel truing
The Deep-dive Course
- Includes everything covered in Basic Course, plus:
- Derailleur installation
- Derailleur cable and housing installation
- Brake installation
- Brake cable and housing installation
- Fork installation
- Bearing adjustment for headset, hubs, and bottom brackets
- Wheel truing in-depth
- Chain and cassette installation
Deep-dive course also includes 2 hours access to the serk bike workshop each month for the 12 months following the course.
Price:
Basic – RMB 900
Deep Dive – RMB 1800. Alternatively you can take the deep dive course as individual lessons. Each 2 hour lesson is RMB 450.
