Serk Cycling Beijing
Every year Serk riders participate in the Beijing Sportive. The Sportive is a series of challenge rides taking place in Beijing during the warmer months. Without doubt the best one to participate in is the April Fangshan 186km event.
It's a super tough course with rewarding views and includes the iconic Beijing Stelvio climb. There are some 500 riders that participate in the event so its a lot of fun and pretty competitive.
The sportive is a timed event. Riders start together in a big group with a timing chip. It's not an official race with the emphasis on completing the challenge and doing your best time rather than racing. However unofficially the front riders treat it like a race.
Last year Josh and Shannon finished together to take first and second place in the long distance. In the short distance Serk had the fastest female time and half of the top 10 fastest finishers overall were Serk riders. Check out pics and report from last year here.
Its a long day as there is an early start and some will need to wait for the slowest riders to finish.
So ready for the challenge ?
