Frontier
crew
A selection of riders exploring their local and international frontiers with a Serk Titanium bike.
MASAKA CYCLING CLUB
Serk is incredibly proud and humbled to be the Masaka Cycling Club's first bike sponsor. During the bike shortage in 2021 the club was looking for 2 gravel bikes to help Ugandan cycling talents Wasswa Peter and Kato Paul compete on an equal footing with some of the worlds best gravel riders in Migration Gravel Race. The Serk community raised the funds to sponsor one Serk A30 gravel bike and Serk matched that to sponsor a second bike and get these talented brothers into the race. See the full story here. It was a huge success with both riders securing a historic top 10 placing. As a result they've now earned a spot in team Amani and will be racing gravel across the globe in 2022.
Our titanium bikes were built for the frontiers and we are looking forward to seeing our bikes tested to the limits and ridden by generations of hopeful East African cyclists.

ANDY VAN BERGEN
FOUNDER EVERESTING & HELLS 500
Here is what Andy had to say about his choice of a custom Serk A30 as his 'bike for life'.
"There are some incredibly talented frame-builders in our own backyard here in Melbourne, but the decision to go with a custom build from Serk was an easy one. I've known Shannon and his team for a number of years, and the two of us have been on some amazing adventures together - including to the rooftop of the world, and through the untouched wilderness of Central Asia. Already this bike was going to be special - it would always and instantly connect me to far-off-lands and incredible friends every time I swung a leg over the saddle (on fairweather days only, naturally).

Ji CHENG
FIRST CHINESE PRO TO FINISH ALL 3 GRAND TOURS
It's no secret that once pro riders finish their team contracts they can finally choose the bike they want to ride. Ji Cheng was looking for a titanium bike with lots of versatility and contacted the Serk team. In early 2019 we were the first brand in Asia to release an 'all-road' bike with clearance for 35C tyres. Ji Cheng was excited to find such a progressive geo bike in his back yard and ordered one immediately. We designed a unique paint job to commemorate this achievements as the first Chinese to complete all three Grand Tours riding with the Giant Alpecin team. Read all about it here.
FU
FIRST CHINESE RIDER TO FINISH THE TCR
Fu started his cycling career with our club in Beijing. In a few short years he went from riding with running shoes to completing the Transcontinental Race. Fu purchased one of early models of adventure bike from Serk and has never looked back. The comfort titanium provides is perfect for ultra distance events and the flexibility to mount larger tyres gives Fu the ability to ride all surface types.
URS KELLER
HEAD DT SWISS ASIA
Urs is a Swiss industry veteran and can easily source a bike from any of the major brands. Instead he decided on a Serk A30 after travelling with us on a frontier road trip to Everest. Here he saw the quality of the craftsmanship first hand and started understand the extreme conditions we test our bikes in. It was the perfect choice for him as an adventure bike. To date he has ridden on a big trip across Taiwan and had this to say -
"My Serk bike was perfect for this trip. I put our new GRC 1400 gravel wheels on and rode it with 32 mm Vittoria tyres. The frame is perfectly designed for bike packing tours. It's stiff, light and very comfortable. I use my Serk always on my long rides on the weekends. Of course it's not as light as my carbon bikes but I don't have to compromise when it comes to fun, functionality and comfort."
