Serk Cycling Beijing
With a population density of 150 people per sqaure kilometre it is hard to really get away from it all in China. We've found a glorious spot in Hebei. So good we are going to boldly claim it has some of the best gravel experiences in China. Long continuous gravel roads, mountains, tunnels, rivers and not one tourist. Infact in our scouting over two days we encountered the highest ever animal to human ratio ever recorded in China. Humans : 4 (not including us). Sheep over 100. Cows at least 20. Badger looking critters 3. This is the gravel heaven you've been searching for in China and its only a 3 hour drive from Beijing.
We leave early morning and drive to the start point of our second loop. Another day with 2 ride options - an easier mostly concrete and loose gravel route along the river or another mega 100km loop through some glorious canyons and tunnels carved through the karst mountains.
Back to Beijing in the early late afternoon for last train / flight back.
