Lots of riders will be competing in the Beijing Tri this weekend – good luck all of you ! We will be at the Tri Expo Friday / Saturday afternoon and Sunday – come and say hello !
For those not competing we still have a Serk ride on. This weeks ride starts in Huairou and heads West to the Bohai township.
Beginner and Intermediate have a lot less climbing than usual – hills are inevitable when cycling in Beijing but the ones surrounding the Bohai area aren’t too long.
Elite riders – where are you all ? I’ve shortened the route a little to try and encourage some of you to come out of hiding !
The start/ finish location is reasonably close to Beijing so expect an early return !
Please sign up quickly to avoid disappointment. If you do not get redirected to the confirmation page and receive an email (it takes a few minutes to go through) your registration did not go through. If unsure check this page. Contact us on we chat if you are having problems.
Those that do not have a ride pass must pre-pay the ride fee before place is confirmed.

1. Beginner – 49km 500 m Climbing
An out and back route to with a loop. Scenic roads with a bunch of small climbs – nothing too hard. Suitable for all levels of beginners.
Ride leader : TBC
Average Speed : 15 km/h – 20 km/h
This ride is recommended for all new beginner riders. If you find the pace too slow next week you can move to the Intermediate Group. Its much better to start out on the easier ride and then move up rather than start on the faster ride and find yourself getting dropped and left behind.
2. Intermediate – 72km 800m Climbing
A nice route that follows the same course as Beginner but adds in an extra 10km climb and descent. Nice flowing roads and perfect opportunity for the fit and experienced Beginner riders to set up to Intermediate.
Average Speed : 20 km/h – 25 km/h
Please note if you are a new rider you need to join a beginner ride for your first outing with Serk. Once you’ve smashed that you are welcome to move up to Intermediate or Elite ! This ride is recommended for all Intermediate riders. If you find the pace too slow next week you can move to the Elite Group. Its much better to start out on the easier ride and then move up rather than start on the faster ride and find yourself getting dropped and left behind.
4. Elite – 118 km 1709m Climbing
A chance to test yourself up the iconic Sihai climb. Before that expect some rolling hills through the back roads of Huairou and Mutianyu. Come back the same way but make a detour via Mutianyu roundabout !
Ride leader : TBC
Average Speed : 25 km/h – 30 km/h
This ride is recommended for Elite riders only. The pace will be pretty fast and on the flat parts of the course we will ride together as a bunch so the km pass quickly. If you are not sure of your fitness or endurance then please do not join this group. Instead go with the intermediate group and as your fitness improves later in the season join the Elite ride group.
